End of an era, Thank God

My Internship is coming to an end in exactly half a month. I honestly don't know how i feel, for the most part I enjoyed the internship. I think I got a glimpse into the real world and realised that in life, that most people just don't care about others at all. Its sad but true.

Some people I met were lovely, some people appeared lovely, and some people just put on lovely. I don't know where I fit in within all this loveliness, But I hope I am not artificial. But I have to say the whole experience has really opened up my eyes, I now know what type of person I definitely don't want to become. I hope in the future as my career develops I will always maintain my kindness and caring attitude towards people (especially those who deserve it)

Regardless of any mixed feelings I have towards the internship I do feel like I learnt a lot and am maybe more alert and aware than I used to be. I think in the future I would prefer to work in a larger organization that has less in office politics because to be honest that can really get you down.

Anyway all the stress of the termination of the internship and pressure to move on to my next path has caused a breakout. Not Fun at all, So I am tackling it with my old reliable SudoCream, Clearasil Overnight Lotion, Australian Body care On the Spot Roll on and Australian Body-care Face Wash. So fingers crossed I will be back to normal in no time.

But at the moment I am borderline considering buying the Proactiv 4 Piece Anti Blemish Kit. Gabriella Ellis from Made in Chelsea is the new Brand Ambassador, I love Made in Chelsea but not necessarily her, I think if Millie or Binky was using it, It would have more push power.

What kind of spot treatments are you using?

Scent of the Moment- Lavender

I am a terrible person for getting crazy about different scents, I went through my rose phase, cucumber phase, I am still stuck on that one!! But my newest scent I can't get enough of is Lavender or if you like Lavandula angustifolia. In the past Lavender was used for all sorts of things like disinfecting wounds during the war, Farmers used to put a bit of Lavender in there hat to prevent headaches and sun stroke
Women used to and in fact still do put sachets of lavender in there closets to keep there clothes fresh and of course potpouri, Lavender can be used for treating anxiety and depression, According to the Smell and Taste Foundation in Chicago, the scent of lavender increases brain waves associated with relaxation. Lavender can also help people with insomnia,

A Lavender Pillow is just as good as any modern sleeping medication. You can also relieve headaches by massaging Lavender oil on your temples, neck and forehead. Lavender Oil can also help a number of skin problems such as acne, burns, dry skin, eczema, itchy skin, sunburn, seborrhea, and skin inflammation.

The uses of lavender are endless. Lavender is a must-have for all homes because of its calming, antibiotic, antiseptic, disinfectant, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. It is good for treating or aiding in the treatment of a number of health problems.

Lavender can be applied in various different ways. It can be massaged onto the skin, placed in diffusers for inhalation, added to baths, added to vaporizers, and mixed with water or other substances for spray purposes. Lavender is very potent and should always be used sparingly. The oil must always be diluted with water or a carrier oil such as olive, jojoba, avocado, or grape seed oil. Never place lavender oil directly on the skin without diluting it.

All that being said I can't wait to add to my Lavender Products.

Soap, Yay or Nay?

Soaps or Handwashes? Awhile back when Lush first opened me and my boyfriend went in and obviously the first thing that struck us, was all the scents, Oh my god it felt like our noses were having a fiesta, we were like sniffer dogs, sniffing out the best scent, and obviously we couldn't resist buying something and the thing that caught my eye was this really brightly coloured soap called Angel Delight, probably the most unnatural thing in the shop lol! But I had to have it.

I brought it home and we started using it and in the beginning it was great, it smelled good looked good, but as there are only two people living in our apartment, soaps tend to last us a long time.... So after a month of having it i was cleaning the apartment and I noticed that the soap was starting to become a bit soggy and the colour was coming off on to my soap bowl. Then i had no choice but to throw it out. :( and after that I was sworn off, Hand Soaps and was never really enticed by Lush again to be honest.
So ever since then we have been using hand washes such as Dove, and various other fruity ones, like most recently raspberry scented Hand washes.

But anyway this week our Raspberry scented Handwash ran out and I headed to boots and quite frankly I was all set to buy the Soap and Glory Hand wash I knew the price was steep €6.90 but it was on 3 for 2 so I thought maybe I would pick two other things out. Actuially they have a Handwash/Hand Lotion Giftset half price now. €6.50 for the two is a real bargain... but I already have the Soap and Glory Hand Food...

But when I got into boots I was overwhelmed by the huge selection of Hand washes and was strangely attracted to Boots's own Lavender Handwash.

I have never used Lavender anything for as long as I can remember because I guess its traditionally associated with older people.... But not to long ago I read a blog about Lavender body lotion and I become interested in revisiting Lavender this overlooked scent. So I got it home and guess what I can't stop washing my hands.

Maybe my nose is maturing?

What's on my Bedside Table?

One of the blogs I follow MAKE me UP did a blog post like this and I really liked it. So I decided to create my own version! So Voila! At the moment there is an odd theme going on... but it wasn't on purpose lol

Sanctuary Youth Boosting Night Concentrate
This is the first Sanctuary Spa Essentials product I have ever tried and to be honest I really didn't know what to expect, I saw it on 3 for 2 in Boots and decided to give it a go, and was really pleasantly surprised, It has a very distinct scent that is half fruity half herbally. I really like it. and I have noticed my skin feels a lot softer and smoother in the morning.

Soap For Glory Body Butter

This was another item I chose as part of the 3 for 2 offer in boots. My sister had this before and i loved the smell. So sweet, So I decided to buy a travel size pot and see how i get on. Its definitely very rich and moisturisng. However it is very heavily perfumed so if that is not your thing, then I would advise you to steer clear.

Sanctuary's Radiance Exfoliator
This is properly the odd one out of the list but I don't care it was the 3rd part of my 3 for 2 deal, I think this is a lovely product when i opened it i was shocked by the colour of the product its brown. but i think that adds to it. it has a lovely lemony apricot smell, It says to use every 2 to 3 days but because of the smell I want to use it more lol!

Ponds Cold Cleansing Cream
I picked this one up on a whim my Garnier rose cleanser had just run out and I was in the pharmacy pondering which cleanser to get I don't like gels at all or ones that need to be rinsed off. I like one I can apply with a cotton wool and get all my make up off.. This cleanser is kind of a cross between the two and it smells quite florally, the pack says you can use with cotton wool or for best results rinse it off... I have tried rinsing it off and not rinsing it off and just using my toner. If you don't rinse off or use a toner it leaves the skin feeling a bit sticky. so you definitely need to combine this with a toner at least.

Garnier Rose Toner
I bought the Garnier rose toner about 2 months ago and its now half full and I think it works great especially with my ponds cleanser cream which I like to use with cotton wool rather than rinsing off all the time. so this one is handy to remove any excess cream that's not absorbed. I think its hard to go wrong with toners really I have used the boots essential Cucumber toner and Essence's blackcurrant toner and they have all been pretty similar except for the scents.

Nivea Radiance boosting Eye Cream

Lastly I am using Nivea Radiance boosting Eye Cream, it comes in a pretty pink tube. I think its good for moisturizing  but it does leave a bit of a shimmer after you use it, So if you don't like that I would avoid it. I personally think if you want a good eye cream you need to pay a good price, and at the moment i am not overly concerned about my eyes so I am happy to stick with nivea but perhaps in a few years time i will start buying into more expensive eye creams.

Villains you can't help but love

My number one favourite Tv show at the moment is Once Upon A Time, Me and my boyfriend can't get enough of this show, its the only thing we want to see on a Monday night. We love hypothesizing what's going to happen next and what such and such mean... Really if you are not watching this you really need to start tuning in. This week there was no new episode and me and my boyfriend literally didn't know what to do with ourselves lol.

Our Favourite Villain in Once Upon a Time has got to be Rumplestlitskin AKA Mr Gold Allright dearry??
A Close second is Captain Cook

I can't wait til these two characters are reunited in the show then there will be a huge showdown....

Another Tv show I am beyond obsessed with is Vampire Diaries and what would it be without its numerous villains!? The main one at the moment is Klaus :D
But bad things tend to happen to Villains in Vampire Diaries eventually....... like poor auld Alaric. He didn't last long as a villain

Honey I'm home!!!

The 15th of October marked me and my boyfriend's 2 year anniversary, So on the day I went on a shopping hunt trying to figure out what I should get him I set my budget at 50 euro. At the beginning I was thinking either a  David Beckham aftershave set... or a FCUK Gift set.

But then when I got to the city centre I eventually decided upon a Blue HOODY from New Look with an emphasis on Hoody because the hood is what makes the hoody so special because of the design on it. I also bought him some new socks. Random I know but seriously we run out of socks in our apartment like nobody's business.
This is not the exact hoody but something similar...

Once his present was all paid for and decided I fell in love with something in the body shop. I found something that I need to have! Peach Body butter, Oh my god I was blown away. The smell was absolutely delightful, the texture is like nothing i had felt before in any of my regular body lotions. I am seriously lusting after it.

I only own two other products with any sort of peach scent, A peach lip balm and Garnier body 7 Day intensive peach extract. and the scents of these two products is nothing compared to the Peach body butter from the Body Butter. It just completely obliviates the garnier 7 day intensive peach gel.

Sadly Body Butters in the Body Shop cost 18 euro which is a tad steep for me.... So as a consolation I went and bought Garnier Body Honey scented lotion. While its no Peach Body Butter from the body shop. It did smell gorgeous when i first smelt it, and as I'd never owned anything honey scented before it was a nice change and it was half price 2.02 Euro in Hickeys Pharmacy, which is a real bargain. But after a few uses I actually can't bear the scent any more and have completely stopped using it. :(

So have any of you found something in the Body Shop that completely blew your socks off? Have you found  any of the Garnier Body Lotions or Gels any good?
