Style spotting

Ever since I got a glimpse of Project Runway about 2 summers ago now, I have loved it and watched every single episode to date.my Favourite winner so far by miles is of course Mondo.

It's funny almost every season I fall for one designer this season, season 10 I loved Gunnar Deatherage, but now he's been eliminated so now I am rooting for Christopher Palu. I think Styled to Rock doesn't compare at all. I just hate the format, I guess I don't like change, I was so pissed off when ren got eliminated for something he didn't design and that the judges liked. I just thought it was so petty and never would of happened on Project Runway.

I think I am starting to see a pattern I like designers who wear glasses lol, Probably because these days I have been forced to wear my glasses virtually everyday because of conjunctivitis, but I am on Antibiotic drops at the moment and hopefully am on the mend.

Anyway I am sure you all know the Emmy's were on this week and here are some of my style picks.

Sofia Vergara

Julianne Hough

Hiedi Klum
I know the Daily Mail has said she was exposing to much flesh but actually its normal for her remember this pic.
Its almost the same dress in red.... and the same amount of flesh, with her ex husband.

Nina Dobrev stunning in red

All things Rosie

I know roses and all things pink for that matter are not necessarily everyones cup of tea, some find the smell too overbearing or maybe just a little artifical. But I for one love it.

Not too long ago I mentioned that I had ordered a Figs and Rouge Balm from FeelUnique.com I originally had my heart set on the pomegranate scented Balm but then in a moment of madness I decided to go for the Rose Balm to match my Figs and Rouge Rose hand cream
My first impression was the tin is absolutely tiny, its alot smaller than other lipbalms I have bought before. but nonetheless the scent is absolutely gorgeous and you can't help but fall in love with it. Accordings to the Figs and Rouge Website it can be used on your face, body and lips. As the pot is so small I haven't tried using it anywhere else other than my lips for now. But one of these days I might try it as a moisturiser on my face.

Another Rosie purchase I made recently was my Garnier Rose Cleansing Lotion. I had been boots Sensitive Skin Cleansing Lotion and at this point I am absolutely sick of it. After using it, it left my skin with a oily shine, which I didn't like at all and also the packaging is quite clinical looking, I used to use the Boots Cucumber Cleansing Lotion and it never left an oily shine,

So yea the Garnier Rose Cleansing Lotion is a happy addition to my collection, It wipes away make up so easily and smoothly. It is not as heavily scented as Figs and Rouge. But you definitely get a pleasant whiff of roses. I think I am definitely going to purchase the rose cleanser later today. :)

Have you tried any of these products? or Can you reccomend any rose scented products?

Scrub a dub dub

To be honest exfoliating is very low down on my list of things to do. Like I said I am lazy to use products that require me to wash my face apply the product and then wash off again. I tend to do it once a week and leave it at that.

So for my face I am using Nivea Young Wash & Refine Daily Scrub.

This product is quite strange, It doesn't lather up at all and it just smells like soap. I haven't really noticed any improvement in my skin so far. I don't think I will repurchase at the moment I am searching for a new facial scrub. I saw one Cucumber Facial scrub that i have my eyes on But I have to resist until this runs out....

I have been using 2 Body Scrubs these days Soap of Glory Breakfast Scrub when I'm at my family's house and Miss McCole Perfectly Polished Body Scrub at the appartment.

I absolutely love this Body Scrub! It smells so yummy and I think it is the way a real Body scrub should be very gritty. I am strongly considering buying a smaller pot version for my appartment.
I got this as a gift for Christmas from my brother, It came with a shower gel and bubble bath. and a body butter. The smell is quite floral, and the beads are very tiny. It is not a strong exfoliator, I personally just use it like a shower gel.  I think in future I want to stick to proper gritty scrubs.

"One may live without bread, not without roses" Jean Richepin

Oooh its that time of year again, The Rose of Tralee festival will be on Tv on Monday and Tuesday next week, I have been watching this show almost religiously since as long as I can remember, and it never grows old.

If I had a rose for every time I thought of you, I'd be picking roses for a lifetime.
Swedish Proverb

Apart from the TV show I also quite like the scent of roses, when I was living in Kilkenny with my boyfriend, I came across this beautiful Hand Cream called Figs & Rouge Nourishing Hand Lotion with Organic Rambling Rose. Its actually one of the only souvenirs I have from Kilkenny apart from a flowery piggy bank that broke on its way home from Kilkenny and my Dad had to glue back together.

Ever since I got it I have been dying to try out other products from this range and I couldn't find it anywhere, so I actually wrote to them and found out its available in one small shop in the West Of Ireland and I contacted that shop and they said I can pay by visa and they will post it out to me. I am planning to order it next Thursday. They have so many different things in there range.

At the moment I am thinking of ordering one of their all purpose balms and see how I get on with that.

Have any of you reading this tried any of the Figs & Rouge Brand?

Mask it

This week I found a wee gem of a product, I can't wait to share it with you all,

CYCLAX VITAMIN E & CUCUMBER COOLING FACE MASK

Oh my god, I bought this on Tuesday and used it the same day, and I have to say I absolutely loved it, after I washed off the mask my skin felt so smooth and so soft, The only thing that i am disapointed about is only being able to use it once a week, I would use it every day if i was allowed and had enough time....

Before I analysed the ingredients of Cyclax oil of evening primrose, so here are the latest ingredients in the face mask

Aqua,

Kaolin,
kaolin clay is also known as China clay, It is a natural clay like mineral  (silicate of aluminium) and is composed of silica, iron, magnesium, calcium,  sodium, zinc and other minerals It can help cleanse, purify, heal, soothe, nourish and tone all skin types.

Stearic Acid

Also in Yes To Carrots Cream Cleanser it fulfills the role of a thickener or hardener in Cosmetic products. Stearic acid also acts as an emulsifying agent, meaning it binds together materials -- such as oil and water -- that would usually separate.

Glycerine,

Also in Yes to Carrots Cream Cleanser Glycerin is a neutral, sweet-tasting, colorless, thick liquid which freezes to a gummy paste and which has a high boiling point.

Isopropyl Myristate,

Also in Cyclax Oil of Evening Primrose Night Cream Isopropyl Myristate is a synthetic oil used as an emollient, thickening agent, lubricant or moisturizer in beauty products

Cucumis Sativus,

It is derived from cucumber, it is known for its soothing and astringent effect. Its moisture binding, aids in removing dead skin cells and alleviates inflammations and irritants. It also tones and tightens skin.

Glyceryl Stearate,

Also in Cyclax Oil of Evening Primrose Night Cream, and Yes to Carrots daily cream cleanser It is deriven from Palm Kernels It's small molecular structure enables it to penetrate the skin's surface easily and it helps in slowing the loss of water by forming a barrier that prevents evaporation.

Paraffin,
Parafin is derived from petroleum. For cosmetic use, this oil is refined to eliminate the carcinogenic aromatic hydrocarbons. Despite this, an analysis did find that “mineral oils used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes reveal the presence of several carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

Cetearyl Alcohol,
Also in Yes to Carrots Daily Cream Cleanser cetyl alcohol helps pull moisture back into your skin. Cetyl alcohol also helps protect your skin by shielding it from irritation, such as wetness.

Triethanolamine,
Also used in Cyclax oil of evening Primrose Night Cream Triethanolamine is s a strong alkaline substance used as surfactant and pH adjusting chemical. It adjusts and buffers the pH, and solubilises oils and other ingredients that are not completely soluble in water.Warning this chemical is known to be very harmful to both your lungs and your eyes by causing painful inflammation. it is safe to use as long as the exposure is very short as in a product that gets washed off.

Parfum

Tocopherol Acetate, (Vitamin E)

  • It protects the skin from environmental pollution
  • It has a protecting action against UV radiation – although it cannot be classed as a sunscreen
  • It is an excellent moisturizer It contains powerful anti-inflammatory action – and this prevents premature aging, as inflammatory conditions in the skin is a leading cause of skin aging
  • It has excellent wound healing properties

Benzyl Alcohol
Also in Cyclax Oil of Evening Primrose Night Cream, Benzyl alcohol is produced naturally in many plants, fruits (such as strawberries) and some essential oils (such as ylang ylang, hyacinth and jasmine). As it derives from aromatic material, it has an inherently pleasant scent.Benzyl alcohol functions by killing or preventing the growth of a broad spectrum of bacteria, yeasts and moulds, and is ideal for emulsions

Methylchloroisothiazolinone
This is a widely used preservative. In pure form or in high concentrations, methylchloroisothiazolinone can be a skin and membrane irritant or cause chemical burns. It should only be found in rinse off products.

Methylisothiazolinone,

Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is becoming increasingly popular as a preservative to replace parabens. Even some products claiming to be certified organic use this preservative, as certain percentages of non-organic material is allowed by the USDA.
Conclusion
A great product will definitely repurchase, if i can find a store that sells it... it cost ¢2.99 which is quite reasonable, The only warning I would give is like all masks don't let it get in your eyes, the first time I used it happened and I almost came down with conjunctivitis. Maybe I will wear my boyfriends goggles the next time i do a face mask lol

Win a free divorce?

Now that the Olympics are about to start everyone is getting into the spirit of things and want to win things, in all sorts of competitions and I am no stranger to online competitions and trying to win free stuff, I have entered all sorts of competitions mainly cosmetics, but thats just what I am into, but trust me on Facebook, there are competitions to suit just about everyone, whether your looking for cosmetics, a hotel stay, a restaurant meal, car accessories, cakes, food in general, Speakers, Kitchenware etc, You name it you can find a competition for it.

In general all the competitions I have seen on Facebook have all been quite tasteful, But today I came across the strangest and possibly the most distasteful competition Win a Free Divorce, on a cheating website http://www.maritialaffairs.com/. Who were trying to gain more members,

This is wrong on so many levels, I mean firstly why are there even cheating websites? To Facilitate people who want to cheat on their husband or wife? Maybe I am one of those naive idealistic type people but I like to believe that cheating happens randomly and sporadically and definitely unplanned, I hate the thought that people would go out purposely searching to find someone to have an affair with,
I guess its a really topical issue this week after it was revealed Kirsten Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson, with The Snow White Movie Director. Everyone is still wondering what was she thinking? Anyway I personally think that the person who has been cheated on deserves all the sympathy, Why should someone who cheats be rewarded with a free divorce? Its madness!

I think a competition to win free marriage counseling would be better, I just think divorces shouldn't be encouraged,

What do you think? How would you feel if your supposed love one entered such a competition?
